COLUMBUS, Ohio - A fire official in Ohio says a 52-year-old woman and her 7-month-old granddaughter are among the three people killed in a Columbus house fire.

Fire Battalion Chief David Whiting describes the third victim as a man either 18 or 19 years old.

Whiting says the fire in the Franklinton neighborhood just west of downtown was reported around 5:30 a.m. Friday. He says firefighters arrived to find the two-story house engulfed in flames "from top to bottom."

The man was found dead outside the house, by a window, while the other two bodies were in a bedroom. Two adjacent homes were heavily damaged.

A firefighter overcome by heat was taken to a hospital. Whiting says there were no other injuries.

The fire's cause was not immediately known.
