HILLIARD, Ohio - Fire investigators in Ohio say an early morning house fire that killed three people was an accident.
The blaze in Hilliard, in suburban Columbus, was reported about 3:45 a.m. Monday.
Neighbor Jill Miller told The Columbus Dispatch that the blaze killed a woman, her son, and another son's girlfriend. Miller said two brothers escaped the fire and were unable to rescue the victims.
Authorities are withholding the names of the victims until an autopsy can be completed Tuesday.
Norwich Township Fire Department Chief Dave Long told NBC4i that the fire appeared to have started in a light fixture or panel box in the garage ceiling. The state fire marshal's office ruled the blaze accidental.
