BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Brownsburg fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire where a man was found dead Thursday morning.
Fire crews were called out to a home in the 7200 block of Eagle Road at about 2:45 a.m.
Firefighters had trouble battling the flames because there are no fire hydrants in the neighborhood.
The first engine responded with 1,000 gallons of water then firefighters had to rely on help from tanker trucks and a dump tank.
"The lack of hydrants didn't cause problems finding the victim inside. We used a thermal imagining camera for that. But not having any hydrants just made it more difficult to actually fight the fire after we pulled the victim out," said Stephanie Martindale with the Brownsburg Fire Department.
The cause of the man’s death is unknown at this time.
The damage estimate to the home is unknown as well.
