We would like to have pictures sent in from anywhere and everywhere of firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, but especially the mix of Fire and EMS making the 'heart' hand gesture
This is to portray Unity among the service, we are a brotherhood...

If this is what you want to do fantastic. It won't stop the egomaniacs from either side from causing issues.
The fact of the matter is people need to realize the mission is saving lives and property and the egos and other Bull Shit need to get set aside to fulfill the mission.
As a firefighter/EMT I couldn't begin to care less if those on the "Vomit Comet" love me or hate me, my job is to serve the citizen that called for assistance and during that call all my personal feelings get set aside to do the job.
Would it be better if there was no conflicts? Well of course. But you are battling human nature.

Like Mom said, there will be bad apples in every barrel. Those bad apples always rot and fade away eventually. Meanwhile all we can do is - as Don says - serve to the best of our abilities and enjoy the company of those with whom we enjoy working. Fortunately, they are the majority.
