Exactly!! Knot-tying has to become muscle memory. When I went through training, we couldn't get past day 2 until we could tie behind our back consistently.

When you're hanging over the edge of a cliff at night trying to deal with a problem, if the basics are not automatic, you may just be SOL.
live burn training drill...thought we had the fire out was on the 2nd floor with the ass.chief we were only in bunker pants thoughts we had the fire out. old house balloon construction was in the wall from the 1st floor room fire...rolled up behind us and almost flashed. i think i was only 18 or 19 yrs old at the time
