THE NEW WORLD FIREFIGHTER RACQUETBALL ASSOCIATION
To all members,
Please be advised that there is a new Racquetball Association dedicated to the EMS Worker and Firefighter starting immediately. The newly formed World Firefighter Racquetball Association (WFRA) is being launched this week in Houston. The Ektelon Racquetball corporation, myself and my co-founder Jeff Weinstein, have created this league for Firefighters, Paramedics, and EMT's to come out a promote health and racquetball.

World Firefighters Racquetball Association Kicks Off in Florida
The new WFRA kicked off with the Florida Firefighters games & Team Ektelon was well represented in the event as well as the new association. WFRA founder Peter Berger not only put the event together but captured Bronze in the 30+ Doubles & 4th in 30+ Singles. Co founder Jeff Weinstein pulled off the double with a Gold in 40+ Singles & Doubles! As well as being part of Team Ektelon Berger represented Hallandale Beach Fire Rescue & Weinstein Plantation Fire Department.
WFRA's Official Ball is the Fireball & the new association will be launching a website in conjunction with Ektelon. Peter & Jeff will be in Houston at the Team meeting so please make sure and get a chance to meet them.
Attached is the mission statement explaining how the association got started.

Are you canvasing membership from other countries? Do you expect mebership for other countries? Or will this be an American 'World' association?

We are canvasing from all over the world. We are hoping that not only the U.S. Will be there but so will the world. We are working diligently towards getting an agreement with the National Fire Games and the World Police and Fire Games as platforms for us to come into and play. Once we are growing, all events will be held in timely fashions so that there are local events, state or regional events (overseas), regional events or National or Country events and then final World Championships like the that is being held in Memphis every year called the U.S. Open. This tournament gathers all of the national and world associations and brings them into one place to play the World championships in the IRF (International Racquetball Federation), the CPRT (Classic Pro Racquetball Tour), WPRO (Women's Professional Racquetball Organization), the MRF (Military Racquetball Federation) and hopefully the WFRA (World Firefighter Racquetball Association). I hope this answered your question to the fullest. I look forward to answering more questions in the future.

Sounds like everyone involved is keen and wants this to go ahead. Good luck, I don't know that racketball has much of a following here, but I wish you all well with this!
One suggestion though, might it not be better to have something other than a depiction of the US flag in a 'World' organisation?
