FireRescue Magazine’s new Editor-in-Chief challenges you to share your stories
September’s issue marks the arrival of our new Editor-in-Chief Erich Roden of the Milwaukee Fire Department. In his first article he steps up with an introduction that renews our purpose to you and challenges you to look at your purpose, culture and the future of the fire service as you see it.
There have been many changes ranging from apparatus and equipment to the tactics being discussed based on the latest fire behavior research. No matter how we engage each other in these spirited debates, the value of learning from each other comes for sharing our own personal experiences.
We want to engage you more and facilitate that learning process. To do so, we need to hear from you. How is your department preparing for its future? What priorities are you placing on training? How are you dealing with recruitment, retention and personnel issues? What is your department doing with the current fireground tactics, the new ones being promoted and the fireground of the future?
We learn best when we learn from others willing to share their success and mistakes. Be part of our mission (Read It Today, Use It Tomorrow) and share your views here and with our news editor at billc@pennwell.com
“As we look around the fire service with a renewed sense of purpose and focus, we find that there are many stories not being told,”
