(AP) MARLOWE, W.Va.

A section of Interstate 81 in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle was closed and several homes were briefly evacuated after a gasoline tanker collided with a vehicle and caught fire.

The accident occurred about 2 a.m. Friday at the Marlowe exit of I-81. The interstate was expected to reopen later Friday.

Berkeley County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Stephen Allen said the truck's driver was not injured. As of early Friday, officials hadn't found anyone from the second vehicle.

Allen said people living in five to 10 homes were asked to temporarily leave after firefighters decided to let the fire burn itself out.

Allen said the fuel contained 10 percent ethanol, and crews didn't have the foam needed to control the blaze.
