Support Cure for Cancer

Brothers and Sisters, My department has set aside this week to show support and raise funds for a Cure for Cancer. The whole department will be wearing pink on duty all week. I have attached a picture of our shirts in action and the memo sent out by the department. This was cooperative effort between our union IAFF Local 29, the BC's bargaining unit SAFO and management. One of our firefighters, Bridget Luby, headed up the effort, great support throughout. I am asking that all of you make an effort to be aware of how cancer affects firefighters and do your fair share to find a cure for these devastating diseases. Wear you SCBA all the time even during overhaul, this is a most dangerous time, we think it is safe but it is not. Be safe.
