It seems that many are busy this holiday weekend with famiily commitments, camping and cookouts......But, I hope each and every one of you took the time to stop, bow your head and "remember" all those that came and went before you.....BOTH the Military and the Brothers and Sisters that paid the ultimate price so that others might live.....I want to say loud and clear.....THANK-YOU.......you will NOT be forgotten......Rest well my Friends....you battle has been fought.........Paul
I was very proud of my older sister today at lunch during a family gathering. She stopped everyone as we descended on the spread of food and said a very nice prayer that included an eloquent remembrance of those who have given all in the line of duty. Everyone was moved by her words.
Our family watched "Taking Chance" today and I had a good discussion with my children over the meaning and sentiment of the movie. Tomorrow, as we do every memorial day, we will go to our county courthouse and walk through the rows of crosses put on on the lawn and read over the names of all our local soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
While we enjoy the day, I want to make sure that my children understand the reasoning for the day. The price of freedom doesn't come cheap and rememberance is the ultimate honor that we can pay to these true heroes.
