LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. - Two maintenance staff members at a Lake Havasu City hospital needed to be treated for smoke inhalation after a kitchen grease fire.

Employees at Havasu Regional Medical Center called 911 after the fire broke out around 6:15 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters gained control of the blaze within minutes and contained it to a deep frying unit and surrounding wall in the cooking area.

Authorities say the hospital's emergency room was never shut down during the incident and no patients had to be evacuated.

The grease fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damages. Fire officials say the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
