St. Louis Firefighter Seriously Injured in Training Accident

EAST ST. LOUIS - A new firefighter was seriously injured during training class on Wednesday and is currently in intensive care.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Firefighter Bobby Cole Jr., 27, was part of a class at a St. Louis training facility when he became pinned between a fire apparatus and a wall.

Cole Jr. suffered a broken pelvis and internal injuries. He was last reported to be in the intensive care unit of the St. Louis University Hospital.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports Fire Chief Jason Blackmon states an investigation is underway.
