LOS ANGELES - Investigators are combing through the debris of a commercial building that has been destroyed by fire in the Chatsworth area of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the fire was reported at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday and was still smoldering more than three hours later.

Humphrey says the fire was so intense that firefighters made the decision to pull back and focus on defending nearby structures. No other damage was reported.

Humphrey says the building housed a printing business owned by Aaron, Thomas & Associates, Inc.

The fire sent up huge plumes of black smoke and lit up the sky over the San Fernando Valley with an eerie orange glow.

A damage estimate was not yet available.
