South Dakota Strip Mall Fire Prompts Animal Evacuations
YANKTON, S.D. - No one was hurt in a fire at a Yankton chiropractic office, though about 20 animals were evacuated from a veterinary clinic in the same strip mall as a precaution.
Officials believe the fire mid-Thursday that originated in a patient room at the Dr. L. L. Jones chiropractic office might have been caused by overheated electrical equipment.
The Press & Dakotan newspaper reports that the office suffered mainly smoke damage.
