OLDHAM, S.D. - A fire inside a house is believed to have killed a man at Oldham.

Kingsbury County Sheriff Kevin Scotting said 56-year-old Terry Bickett and his dog were found dead in the home Monday evening.

Scotting told the Madison Leader that a fire began inside the house but ran out of oxygen and extinguished itself before it could engulf the structure. The sheriff said Bickett had grabbed a fire extinguisher and pulled the pin but never used it.

Scotting said there is no sign of foul play and that the cause and time of the fire are unknown.
