LAURENS, S.C. - Authorities say a 94-year-old woman has died in a fire at her Laurens home.

Fire officials say they were able to put out the blaze quickly on Friday, but the body of the woman was found in the kitchen.

Authorities say Lillian Boyd died from smoke inhalation.

Neighbor Bessie Johnson told WSPA-TV that Boyd lived by herself and got along well despite her age.

The Laurens Fire Department is investigating the cause of the blaze.
