COLUMBIA, S.C. - Firefighters have put out a fire at a South Carolina apartment complex for a second straight day.

Multiple media outlets reported firefighters were called to an apartment complex northeast of Columbia shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters had put out a blaze at the same complex early Wednesday morning.

Interim Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says one firefighter was taken to a hospital for exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.

Jenkins says investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire. He says he doesn't think the fire rekindled from Wednesday's blaze.

About 30 firefighters responded to the fire.
