WASILLA, Alaska - A 6-year-old died Wednesday in a home fire in Wasilla.

Alaska State Troopers say Hayden Martin was killed.

Troopers took a call of the fire at 5 a.m. and learned that the child and 53-year-old Zina J. Joseph were inside.

Troopers say a neighbor saw the fire from the back of his home and responded to give aid.

The neighbor was able to rescue Joseph but not the child.

The home was a total loss.

Joseph was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital, treated for smoke inhalation and released.
