I am on a school committee to create exit routes for our new middle/high school. I thought that I read somewhere an exit is rated for a certain number of people to use. Can anyone shed some light on how to figure this? This school is in ohio.

make contact with someone from the building department who has mutual responsibility for inspecting public buildings. typically, the fire code and building code mirror one another and it's the building code that has the language for exiting, specifically how many are required and where they need to be located dependent upon the occupancy type and occupancy load...
