San Francisco Woman Jumps From 8th Floor To Escape Fire

SAN FRANCISCO - Police say a woman died after leaping out of a burning 8th floor apartment in San Francisco.

Sgt. Troy Dangerfield, a police spokesman, did not identify the victim, who jumped to her death at about 5:30 a.m.

Dangerfield says a second person in the apartment _ a man in his 30s _ was hurt in the fire and taken to a hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
