have a rookie on our dept. and he does screw up alot, but last night on a structure fire as a mutual aid dept, he did a knock out job, you could not ask for a better performance out of anybody.
yeah that is very true. we had a call tonight for a snowmobile accident. and wow some of the ppl didnt even know what they were doing and then you have the other snomobilers that just get in the way..
the hardest thing for a rookie..from my experience.. is station life. Thats where they get most of there "reeming". The rookies at my department come out of rookie school with more knowledge than we expect, so on the fire ground, other than learning how the basic things roll, they do aight.
