WASHINGTON - Authorities expect to reopen the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in downtown Washington after a fire at a restaurant in the building's food court.
D.C. fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says there was moderate damage to the building Tuesday. The fire started in the kitchen of the Cajun Grill on the concourse level of the federal building. It traveled through some of the duct work.
Piringer says firefighters had to open up some of the walls to check for hot spots. Still, Piringer says workers should be able to reoccupy the building on Tuesday.
Streets around 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue remained closed due to the fire.
No injuries were reported.
