I need a hand... Is there somewhere in the NFPA Codes that states a fire service will have, adopt and operate with Standard Operating Guidelines?? Can anyone give me a reference or a code??

Or are there any other organization that states such??

Thanks so much everyone..

Cheers,

Shawn McKERRY

Please refer to both the NFPA 1500 and NFPA 1720, both have the references towards the need for procedures.
Hi Jack,

We are in the process of updating our SOGs and the county administration has thrown a wrench into the process... thanks for your input!

Take care

Shawn
Thanks so much Chris! I am trying to hunt down those standards and see what I can dig up.. do you know if I can access those two standards on line..? as I don't have those standards infront of me...

Thanks again

Shawn
Shawn,
Unfortunately NFPA only make available the stds via print, CD, or online for a fee. The CD and online services run about $800 / yr for a subscription. The good news is you can buy each indivdual std in print for reasonable money. Go to NFPA's website for a list and description of tthe stds and purchase price for ea. Good luck.
Found It!! Thanks everyone!
