RHODESDALE, Md. - Fire officials say a blaze has heavily damaged a 40,000-square-foot warehouse in Rhodesdale in Dorchester County.

The fire was reported Wednesday about 3:20 p.m. the warehouse owned by Blackgold Farms. About one hundred firefighters from 14 companies from Maryland and Delaware battled for an hour to bring the blaze under control. Damage is estimated at $600,000. There were no injuries.

Investigators say employees doing remodeling on an interior wall accidentally ignited combustible materials with an acetylene torch.
