Do any of your departments reimburse volunteers for their shifts they work and if so what is the rate. My dept. pays you for the 12 hours you work since we have a sleeper program and we are staffed 24/7. It is offically reimbursement for meals and uniforms.

We operate the same however are not paid for training, meetings, or fuel reimbursement. We fill out a W2 and are a hourly paid on call. One nice thing though is when the DNR or USFS calls us in for mutual. Then we get paid what their FF's get paid. $25 an hour. Whether you're beating the brush or reading the paper in the tender. Otherwise we're paid like 9 something an hour. We do have a relief fund as well.
