PUMPER TRUCKS HOSES AND PSI
What is the average number of hoses on a pumper truck and how much PSI of water is going through them? What is the rate of flow of the water(gallons per minute)?

That is a tough question to answer when you take into consideration all of the different pump flow ratings and configurations that departments spec trucks. pressures and flow rates depend on the task at hand and the equipment being used.

As mentioned pressure and gallons per minute as well as how much hose is carried will vary. Pumps on trucks are rated for their gallons per minute, anywhere from 500 gpm to 2500 gpm. This does not mean this is what they will always flow and things vary by departments and even events.

OK... I'll take the other road... but I don't do this to be a smart ass, but instead try to answer your question... :D
This is an easy question to answer when you take into consideration all of the different pumps flow ratings and configurations that departments spec out their apparatus. The good news is that for most departments, and by that I mean pretty much everybody, we are not dealing with someone who wants to create a high performance vehicle with all the bells and whistles. Instead, what people use when purchasing apparatus is to follow guidelines referred to "Typing Vehicles".
Each piece of apparatus has been classified or "typed" into a specific vehicle type. These types are then used as a category when ordering equipment for mutual aid responses.
