I am curious to see what your department uses for a pump operation for a highrise building with an in house pump.

Paul, Not having this type of experience, e.g. "in house pumps", I have to ask for clarification. Is this a fixed pump located at the facility or high rise? If so, isn't it assumed that there would be an operator handling pumping operations? Could this be an unmanned pumping station that requires the fire department to initiate and run the pumps?

Silly me, living in a world where FDC's combined with standard high rise calculations and my Type I engine ruled the world. I look forward to learning more about something I know absolutely nothing about... Maybe some photos? Santa Barbara is not known for it's high rise buildings. The tallest structure is less than ten floors. Most of my departments jurisdiction is urban wildland interface, not high rise buildings.

Building pumps are within the structure and operate unmanned from the start. FD can take over the pumps through pump operations if needed. If you send me your e-mail I can give you the info you requested. My e-mail is LAYINLINE@AOL.COM
