I have seen in some videos there using plexiglass shields to protect the patient. I was wondering do you know how thick? What about sizes?. I guess size really may not be that big of deal. But if you have used them what is the best in your opinion.

My chief installs glass, doors and windows. He says they have alot of scrap just tell him the sizes and he will cut them to my measurements in there shop. I am thinking a few bigger sizes and a couple small for maybe for working in a crushed area.

Thanks John

Do you recall the type of vehicle it was? I'd like to investigate this further. This is the first time I've ever heard of a window punch failing to break a car window. Just curious if there's some kind of "new" type of window out there.
It was a GM product because it had Onstar and a SUV. but the modle I don't remember off hand for sure. I will ask one of the other guys that was there and get back to you. If you find anything please let me know.
try a wood type blade. As fiberglass has much the same consistency as soft green pine. they cut much better with less pinch.

Here is the shield it is made by a company. Huh who knew?
This was all new to me, and this is certainly not a homemade device. In concept, it seems to be sound but god help you if something goes wrong and this device ends up be causative toward the patients injuries. It would be interesting to see how long it has been on the market, who uses it and some documentation regarding it's efficiency and merits. Pretty cool post though John. It's always good to keep abreast of what's new out there and this certainly, for me, is something new.
Thanks, Captain that really means alot to me coming from you. I think it is a brand new product or aleast I have never seen it before. I always seen homemade ones but never used one at all.
