Pennsylvania Firefighter Injured During Cement Plant Fire

CRANBERRY, Pa. - One firefighter has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire badly damaged a Pittsburgh-area cement plant.

The fire was reported about 1:15 a.m. Thursday at a plant in Cranberry Township owned by John W. Thrower Inc., which specializes is ready-mix concrete. Officials at Thrower, based in Saxonburg, say they expect to rebuild after the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No other injuries were reported.

The plant is about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.
