Tragically we have word that a firefighter collapsed and died as a result of an incident, in Eastern Clarion County. Strattanville Vounteer Fire Company Chief Bill Stroup tells us that a member of his company has passed away. The chief explains to us that his company responded to a call on Washington Street, involving some trash burning in and among some construction debris. One firefighter first told his companions that he did not feel well and then collapsed. Fellow firefighters tried to give first aid. Two Clarion Hospital Ambulance crews responded to the scene. They then immediately rushed the victim to Clarion Hospital. However, futher efforts at the local medical facility were unsuccessful. Chief Stroup confirming that a member of his company, who he did not identify, did not make it and passed away.
