ours being a semi rural area when an incident occurs it is often hard to know where to go to effectively cover an area what i plan on suggesting is zone assignments.

for example a location on main street If we are assigned to go to the scene two blocks (or more )away on either side to direct or divert traffic flow knowing which end ahead of time will allow us to go to our position directly to get control of the traffic and clear the scene for the trucks and tankers.

this would take quite a stress load off of the chief because he would know who was where at all times

it would also save having to drive up to the scene only to have to turn around and go back the other way.

also assigning new personnel with a senior give them the extra chance for training and practice.
