MILWAUKEE - One man has died and another has been injured in a house fire in Milwaukee early Thursday

Police say a patrolling officer spotted the fire about 1 a.m. The officer was able to wake a 74-year-old man on the first floor and help him out of the burning house, but could not reach a 64-year-old man on the second floor.

WTMJ radio reports firefighters say the fire started on the second floor.

The state fire marshal is investigating.
