NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. - One person is confirmed dead in a fire at a house subdivided into several apartments in western Pennsylvania.
The Westmoreland County Coroner confirmed the death in New Kensington, where 911 dispatchers summoned firefighters about 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses say some residents jumped from windows to escape the flamed in the wood frame home. New Kensington is about 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, along the Allegheny River.
Authorities have not said what caused the fire or released the victims name. Others in the building were injured, but they were not immediately reported to be seriously hurt.
