TULSA, Okla. - Two firefighters were injured while helping put out a fire at a vacant landmark building in downtown Tulsa.

Two firefighters were injured while helping put out a fire at a vacant landmark building in downtown Tulsa.

Emergency Medical Services Authority spokesman Chris Stevens said Friday the firefighters were taken to a Tulsa hospital and both were listed in fair condition.

Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Tim Smallwood says the blaze was reported around 2:30 a.m., and it took until about 3:40 a.m. for firefighters to bring it under control.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the blaze, which was mostly contained to the ninth floor.

Several small fires occurred earlier this year at the Art Deco-style building designed by famed architect Bruce Goff. Firefighters determined vagrants accidentally started those fires trying to keep warm.
