The Ohio line of duty death of Firefighter Conrad Mansfield was unfortunately misrepresented to the U.S. Fire Administration. An update on Mansfield's condtion is presented by FirefighterCloseCalls.com and The Secret List:

"The FF from Ohio earlier reported as an LODD is still alive on life support but is in extremely grave condition. After the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association LAST Team was informed by the Delaware Twp. VFD that Firefighter Mansfield had passed away, they responded immediately to the FD. At this meeting, team members were informed that the FF has not passed away but remains on Life Support in Toledo, in extremely grave condition. It was a genuine and obviously well intentioned mis-communication. While the team was genuinely acting on the information given this morning, and followed their strict protocols, we continue to pray for FF Mansfield, his family and all affected and regret the miscommunication."
