SANDUSKY, Ohio - A fire in a maintenance and storage building at Cedar Point led the amusement park in northern Ohio to close three rides and sent three firefighters to the hospital.

Park spokesman Bryan Edwards says Tuesday night's fire never put Cedar Point visitors or employees in danger. He says the fire in a nonpublic area was reported a little after 8:30 p.m. in a building housing office supplies and furniture, plus plumbing and electrical equipment.

Rides closest to the blaze - the Power Tower, Corkscrew coaster and Super Himalaya - were shut down as a precaution.

Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion, while a third was injured in a fall.

Fire officials say the building was a near total loss. The fire's cause was not immediately clear.
