I'm about to graduate the fire 1 pro board program in NJ. I am having some trouble with nozzle control and backing up. Any tips? Glad to finally be part of the firefighting community, have wanted to be here for as long as I can remember.

I'd say fitness and practice.  At training, find a mentor and listen well to him.  Hopefully he will let you do target practice and flow management.  If you're #2 on the hose, watch where the water needs to go and help the nozzleman by positioning the hose so he doesn't have to fight it.  Congratulations - I'm sure you've graduated by now, it's August!

I just graduated the other day. Thank you!
