Newark Firefighters Hospitalized After Ceiling Collapse

NEWARK, N.J. - Two firefighters sustained head injuries when a ceiling collapsed inside a burning building in Newark.

The men were taken to a hospital for observation.

Fire Department spokesman John Brown told The Star-Ledger of Newark Thursday night's one-alarm blaze in the city's North Ward started around 10 p.m. in an adjacent garage. Brown said it spread to the vacant building.

The cause is under investigation.
