BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Now to Niagara Falls where fire crews made a daring rescue overnight.
"We're just happy everybody got out safe," said Guy Reckart.
Guy Reckart says he, his girlfriend, and his young son are among seven people who live in this 22nd Street house that caught fire just after midnight.
Crews were called to the scene after someone smelled smoke, and took quick action.
Battalion Chief Patrick Martin said, "Initially, the crews showed up, there were still people on the third floor I believe, there were people trapped on the second floor porch; with fire in the rear, they were stuck on the porch. They let in the front porch and got them down."
"My girlfriend came down on the ladder, and the fire department brought the baby down on the ladder too," said Guy Reckart.
The Red Cross is helping the people who escaped.
"I was really concerned about my son, especially with the smoke and all that. I'm just glad everybody made it out," Reckart said.
