LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Las Cruces Sun-News editor-in-chief Jim Lawitz says business will continue unabated despite a fire that heavily damaged a building adjacent to its offices.

Firefighters evacuated employees of the paper Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out in the city's downtown.

No injuries were reported.

Lawitz says that regardless of the outcome of the newspaper facility, the paper is committed to deliver news and information to readers.

Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze. No estimate of damages has been made.

The blaze broke out shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday in an attached storage building east of the Real Estate Press offices. The roof of the storage building collapsed.
