MIDDLETOWN, N.J. - One firefighter and several others were injured at a house fire started by lightning in the Jersey Shore town of Middletown.

Deputy Fire Chief Mike Chenoweth said lightning struck the top of the house and started the fire just before 9 p.m. It was brought under control within 15 minutes.

Chenoweth said the firefighter's injury was minor and not related to the lightning strike.

He said two civilians and a police officer were also injured, but he had no further details on their injuries.
