my name is joe and i am a student at the art institute of pittsburgh, majoring in product design. i am currently in a class called ergonomics (how tools relate to the human body) and i chose to redesign a radio (walkie talkie) used by EMS. the reason for this discussion is i wanted to try to get feedback from the very people who used these products on an every day basis. i have already gone to a local EMS station and talked to a handful of people and had them fill out surveys but im looking for more feedback.
what feedback i need exactly? just tell me everything you can about the radio you use. where do you keep it on your person? Is there a better place it could be kept? do you need to see the display with it on your belt (without taking it off)? is the display large enough? are the controls (buttons) large enough? do you often wear gloves when using your radio (do they make it more difficult to operate)? just let me know anything positive or negative about your radio so i can base my designs off of your feedback.
post any questions that you have for me or you could also email me if you prefer.
i respect you all for what you do and i greatly appreciate any feedback that you give me. thank you for your time.
