Just around 5am Saturday morning, you get a Call "Single Vehicle MVC, involving a Semi Tractor/Trailer Unit." Dispatch is recieving addionitional reports that the semi unit has gone off the bridge, and that the unit is on fire. The Incident has taken place on a Major divided Highway in the west bound lanes and north side of bridge. The beam bridge spans approx 300 feet across and at the highest point is 260 feet above the river. The river itself is slow moving with a depth of less then 1 foot and spans 40 feet.
The Scene:

Note that the First Arriving Units are coming from the west.

The First Arriving Officer see scattered debris on the bridge deck, a well developed fire under the bridge on the northside. Through Recon firefighters inform you that the entire truck is off the bridge, the truck cab is at the bottom of the valley, the truck motor/frame is on fire just below the bridge deck on the north side of the bridge.... the bridge deck (westbound lanes) is covered in diesel fuel....
What are your considerations, tactics, and stratgies... they may only be vage for now, I will add more pictures and details later... Have fun.
Thanks
Shawn
