LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Six people have been rescued after a fire at a Louisville apartment building.

Jeffersontown Fire Chief Randy Lawson told The Courier-Journal there were no serious injuries in the blaze at the Fenwick Apartments. One person reported minor burns after stepping on something hot, but refused treatment.

The fire was reported Monday about 3:30 a.m. and it took firefighters about 30 minutes to get the blaze under control.

Lawson said firefighters used ladders to reach balconies and windows to help six people out of their apartments.

The blaze is thought to have started in a mulch area on the ground.
