SAN JOSE, Calif. - Firefighters have contained a massive blaze at a San Jose elementary school.
The fire at Trace Elementary School was reported just after 4 a.m. Monday and was declared contained about three hours later.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Fire Capt. Chuck Rangel says the cause of the fire is still being investigated but preliminary reports indicate it is suspicious.
Heavy smoke has prompted a warning to nearby residents to keep their windows and doors closed and not run air conditioners.
Trace Elementary School is a visual and performing arts school for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
