Mother, Three Children Discovered Shot Inside Indiana House Fire

AUSTIN, Ind. - State police say as many as four people have been found dead at the scene of a house fire in southern Indiana.

Authorities were investigating the deaths Friday night in Austin, about 35 miles north of Louisville, Ky.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jerry Goodin wouldn't discuss the cause of death. He says autopsies are scheduled for Saturday in Louisville.

Goodin says an Austin police officer forced entry into the home about 4:20 p.m. after going there to check on the residents' well-being. The officer found signs of a fire and "up to four" bodies.

Police have not released the victims' identities.
