Mississippi Grass Fire Destroys Over 100 FEMA Trailers
LUMBERTON, Miss. - Authorities say at least 162 unoccupied FEMA trailers were destroyed by a grass fire Thursday in south Mississippi's Pearl River County.

The local emergency management director, Danny Manley, says the fire was brought under control.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency had hundreds of surplus trailers that were taken to the Gulf Coast to house Hurricane Katrina victims.
Manley says the trailers that burned had been bought by a group of investors and were being stored close together in a field.
Manley says a nearby resident was burning trash when the wind picked up and the fire quickly spread to the field where the trailers were kept.
About 250 FEMA trailers were in the field, and almost 90 did not burn.
