Michigan Firefighters Rescue Six People from Roof of Burning Home

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Authorities say firefighters in Grand Rapids have rescued six people from the roof of a burning home on the city's northwest side.

The Grand Rapids Press reports a seventh person also escaped the fire about 5 a.m. Wednesday. Crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke at the home.

Authorities say there were no working smoke detectors in the house. The cause was under investigation.
