SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Firefigters are battling a blaze at an apartment complex near 8 Mile Road between Beech Daly and Telegraph Roads.

Police have confirmed that the Riverstone Apartments caught fire early Thursday morning around 6:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is not known.

Southfield Police said firefighters were instructed to exit the building because of the location of the fire.

Flames could be seen spreading rapidly from Local 4's Skycam.

Witnesses told Local 4 one man was taken away in an ambulance for smoke inhalation.
