MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis woman has been indicted in the deaths of her two toddler sons, who died after a fire at the house where they had been left alone last month.

Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons' office said in a statement Tuesday night that 22-year-old Melodia Dunn was charged with two counts each of reckless homicide and aggravated child neglect or endangerment.

The Oct. 19 fire claimed the lives of Dunn's 2- and 3-year-old sons.

Police said the boys' mother had left the children alone to run errands and did not learn of the fire until after the children had been taken to a hospital.

The statement says Dunn is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $250,000 bond. Arraignment hasn't been set.

I hope she is convicted and given the maximum sentence under the law.
SHE LOCKED THEM IN, for chrissakes.
The children deserved better.
She deserves worse.

Sadly, Chief, this isn't the first time and won't be the last time this has happened.
This is sad that a mother could do this to her own children. She deserves everything she gets coming to her.
